Rarely are people excited to visit the dentist office. Many view it as a chore, some as just another appointment, and some it is just one way to get out of work. However, for some it is the downright last thing they want to do on this earth because they are so scared. You would think, with modern technologies and developments, many patients would be less fearful when it comes to dental treatments. As many as 75 percent of United States adults experience some degree of dental anxiety. This is often caused by stress, temperament, and simple tradition. Only about 5 to 10 percent of U.S. adults experience true dental phobia, avoiding dental treatment at all costs.
